  • Position Description

    The Site Reliability Lead will be responsible for the stability, accessibility and performance of production application environments which support Distribution Management and Transportation Management operations through architecting solutions resulting in improved application performance and stability. Provide supervision of Site Support Specialist or Site Reliability Analyst resources.


    Experience with:

    • ETL technologies
    • Refactoring stored procedures to enhance performance
    • Read and understand execution plans (SQL Server)
    • SSMS Activity Monitor (SQL Server)
    • Monitoring a windows server performance using both Resource Monitor and PerfMon (Windows OS)
    • Capacity Planning for SQL Server
    • Ability to understand and debug .net , C# code and SQL


    • Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics and computer science or business
    • Five (5) years or more experience in IT, preferably in transportation and/or logistics
    • Four (4) years or more experience in providing onsite/remote technical support
    • Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse and/or transportation management applications preferred
    • Two (2) years or more experience in application development
    • Analytical/technical ability and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors) to produce high quality work with minimal supervision
    • Quickly learn new applications and new technologies
    • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate and collaborate with other IT teams including upper management
    • Organization skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
    • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices
    • Microsoft Office (intermediate level)
    • Microsoft Azure Services (intermediate level) preferred
    • Performance Monitoring and analysis (intermediate level)
    • Transportation & Warehouse Management System (intermediate level) preferred
    • Microsoft SQL and to create, select, execute and delete statements (intermediate level)
    • Application debugging (intermediate level)


    • Lead the analysis of production application environments with the purpose of architecting solutions improving operational performance and stability
    • Collaboration with other Ryder IT support teams to resolve issues by designing and recommending solutions using advanced understanding of supported applications and the platforms on which they are built
    • Drive the resolution of issues and determine root cause
    • Troubleshoot issues by debugging application code
    • Provide supervision of Site Support Specialist or Site Reliability Analyst resources
    • Proactively learn new technologies to support applications as they become part of the Ryder portfolio
    • Work closely with Project and Team Managers to provide status and other required information
    • Work with leadership by providing innovating suggestions for advancement of product stability
    • Performs other duties as assigned
