  • Position Description

    The Master Data Quality Engineer is a member of the EIM Data Governance Organization in charge of developing, maintaining and governing the data quality tools/models related to Enterprise and Master Data.

    This individual will collaborate with fellow team members of the Enterprise Data Governance organization to establish the governance processes and controls, in collaboration with the Data Governance Stakeholders.

    The Master Data Quality Engineer will also design and develop automated data quality profiling and quality improvements workflows. This role will be responsible for the administration of the data quality tools and models.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information System, Engineering or related experience
    • Three (3) years or more experience in Data Integration and database development
    • Three (3) years or more of proven experience with data warehousing and data quality profiling
    • One (1) year or more experience with Master Data Management
    • Two (2) years or more experience in production support
    • Possesses strong technical aptitude. Demonstrated skills in data analysis/profiling, data management, data integration and project life-cycle management
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to:
      • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
      • Work independently and as a member of a team
    • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
    • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
    • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices
    • Strong working knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server, SQL, Shell Scripting and IBM Netezza (intermediate level)
    • Modern cloud based data warehouse platforms and data lake technologies (beginner level) preferred

    Responsibilities

    • Gather requirements, profile data and support data quality improvements efforts related to projects
    • Participate and influence design sessions, to ensure the data quality standards are met in the development of solutions surrounding data lineage, data structures, data visualization
    • Responsible for timely status communication on project related tasks. Responsible for identifying and addressing risks and impediments related to data quality
    • Lead change management efforts to ensure data stewards follow data quality processes and standards
    • Share responsibilities with other team members, on projects, to ensure on-time product delivery and post implementation support
    • Monitor and support data stewards related to data quality processes and standards
    • Share responsibilities with other team members, on all support activities including: user requests, production support and post implementation support, within standard SLAs
    • Assists users with the isolation and resolution of data quality related issues by leading root-cause analysis providing options for resolution and recommendations
    • Consulted as technical SME on Master Data solutions
    • Identify process improvement recommendations, based on lessons learned and Enterprise Data Management industry trends research
    • Implement appropriate technical approaches to improve data quality, data quality scorecards, and integration solutions in order to produce accurate, efficient, and governed data results and reporting capabilities
    • Maintain accuracy of design and support documentation, in compliance to Ryder's Data Strategy standards
    • Perform other duties as assigned
