  • Position Description

    The SSC Financial Reporting Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Reporting and Carrier Management teams. This position collaborates with a variety of Ryder's Management and Operational teams to support Ryder's Financial Reporting needs - specifically the month-end close process, review of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, carrier management, and fixed assets and location changes. This includes work analysis and staffing, customer interaction, financial forecasting/cost control, quality assurance, continuous improvement/performance, management of assigned staff.


    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
    • Eight (8) years or more of experience in full use or application of relevant accounting/finance principles, theories, concepts and techniques
    • One (1) year or more of supervisory experience preferred
    • Ability to:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Access and PowerPoint (intermediate level)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, V-lookup, formulas and links (advanced level)


    • Manages the day-to-day work processes and results to established service levels
    • Implements and administers quality control/assurance processes and procedures and conducts audits
    • Acts as the SME for the group and/or business process
    • Acts as the primary escalation point, resolves and addresses issues within established guidelines
    • Participates in the development of goals to maintain optimum efficiency
    • Develops and maintains desk procedures, training manuals, internal control documentation
    • Supervises non-exempt employees
    • Provides primary input to hiring, performance and rewards decisions for a group of employees; provides guidance, coaching and training; and ensures work coverage for the group, including scheduling, attendance management and payroll
    • Leads or participates in projects to include department, SSC, division and corporate initiatives
    • Recommends/make decisions regarding existing or new programs/initiatives that have a significant impact to business operations and outcomes
    • Often serves in a consultant or advisory capacity. Regularly interacts with field management and customers
    • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees
    • Recommends improvement to department policies and practices
    • Ensures that work is performed consistently and timely within company policies and procedures
    • Performs other duties as assigned
