  • Position Description

    As part of the Ryder team, the Manager of Strategy and Development performs research and analysis, including project management (often with broadly defined objectives), of corporate strategy initiatives. He/She will present this information and analysis to all levels of company management.




    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or 8 (eight) years of equivalent work experience required
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience


    • MBA is preferred Proven experience in understanding critical factors, asking the right questions, and uncovering key issues in the development of solutions to fit new conditions
    • Requires strong interpersonal, communication and financial analysis skills to produce effective detailed written reports, as well as executive summaries for senior managers, and presentations to all levels of the company
    • Executive poise to develop domestic and international strategies and proven experience in influencing top levels of management to implement the strategies
    • Demonstrated success at prioritization, multitasking, and independent judgement to see projects through to completion in an efficient and effective manner
    • Project management skills are a plus
    • For internal candidates only: willing to have position located in Miami, Novi, Dallas TMC
    • External candidates must be located in Miami


    • Manage and lead Strategic Planning and Development Projects (internal, i.e. project teams; external i.e. BOD presentations) through the development of concise information and insight about the company's competitive environment
    • Includes project management of varied degrees and time frames
    • Meet with key internal clients on projects to ensure consistency of objectives with client needs, and present and discuss findings and recommendations to clients Conduct and present Financial/Strategy Analysis (Update and adjust financial model)
    • Track industry trends and econometrics; prepare findings of impact/implications for managers and senior management team
    • Report to clients on current and relevant industry and competitor trends and activities Offer guidance and instruction to other analysts and consultants
    • Select and manage vendors and sources for market and competitor intelligence
    • Write white-papers and complete ad-hoc assignments for business unit leaders and leadership team
    • Support merger and acquisition activities as required
