  • Position Description

    The Coordinator II - DOT analyzes research, investigates and evaluates any area of non-compliance regarding the regulatory employee process by notifying Field Managers and Human Resources Coordinators in order to ensure that all required documentation meets regulatory compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Ryder's policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Experience in implementing and evaluating effective internal processes

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Effective writing and oral communication skills are essential
    • Ability to analyze reports and provide meaningful analysis
    • Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for communications with field personnel, internal customers and government
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong PC skills that include MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze and evaluate the Driver Qualification Files & Updates
    • Manage the Driver Qualification File Process Provide guidance to the field on compliance with the Driver Qualification Files and minimum hiring requirements
    • Provide regulatory compliance support to Human Resources Coordinators and Field Managers Audit, research and investigate regulatory employee background through Ryder's third party vendor Serve as the liaison between DOT Compliance Department and Ryder Talent Recruitment Center
    • Assist in maintaining Ryder's Satisfactory Rating
    • Ability to interpret and practice DOT Federal Regulations and Ryder Policies
    • Ability to interpret and analyze DOT Compliance Reports Review and maintain Department's Quality Control
    • Manage the GC Database for DOT and be able to generate status and action reports Monitor, track and prepare Hours of Service records inventory
    • Track and record all collisions; provide appropriate follow up Issue reports for collisions and compliance trends for management
    • Prepare Collision Post Accident files
    • Prepare and research Employment Verification forms for DOT recordable collisions and Drug & Alcohol history
    • Perform research and follow up on Roadside Inspection documents
    • Maintain and distribute Hazmat Certificates
    • Provide overall support regarding any DOT Compliance Function
    • Able to cross train in other DOT Compliance Functions Research and maintain the DOT Compliance Database for any field contact updates and corrections
    • Able to perform department administrative duties (accounts payable, prepare JV, reconciliation of bank statements, etc.)
