  • Position Description

    The Manager, Accounting & Administration is responsible for accounting projects which include implementation of new GAAP, acquisitions, IT transformation, and internal reporting changes. Monthly recurring responsibilities for this individual include accounting for US FMS business segment of Ryder, accounting and financial reporting for environmental reserves, and support business budgeting/forecasting.


    • Bachelor's degree in accounting
    • Master's degree in accounting or finance preferred
    • Five (5) years or more of experience in public accounting
    • Excellent analytical, communication (written and oral), organizational, and research skills
    • Ability to:
      • Manage multiple projects
      • Interact with senior management
    • Technical knowledge of GAAP (advanced level)
    • Certified Public Accountant [CPA] (Upon Hire)


    • Implement and provide technical or business guidance on new GAAP (i.e. revenue recognition)
    • Prepare and analyze the segments balance sheets and income statements as presented in the monthly Flash reports
    • Interact with various groups in the Company, including Field personnel, to establish and/or clarify accounting policies in accordance with GAAP/Company policy
    • Prepare, analyze and present the segments financial results to senior management on a quarterly basis
    • Identify and solve accounting and business issues as they arise
    • Ensure accounting controls are maintained and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures through regular performance reviews, identifications of control gaps and leading any necessary remediation efforts
    • Participate in special projects as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned
