  • Position Description

    The Dispatcher will act as a liaison for the day-to-day communication between customers, drivers, and facilities to provide information and guidance on processing shipments. You will work with the Customer Logistics Manager (CLM) to determine daily equipment requirements, driver resources and routing.

     

    • Must be available to work weekend on-call shift
    • Strong attention to detail, data entry
    • Assign Driver dispatches according to location policy and in compliance with DOT requirements (hours of service)
    • Work directly with Drivers to communicate route requirements and store delivery windows – able to coach drivers on finding route solutions
    • Report all safety related incidents to the CLM and Senior Logistics Manager Immediately
    • Maintain constant communication with dispatched Drivers and store personnel to ensure delivery schedules are being met within established delivery windows
    • Know of driver’s available hours prior to dispatch
    • Maintain full compliance with safety, Federal, State, and DOT regulations.
    • Use Shift Dispatch Log to document all issues that have occurred over the assigned tour of duty. Submit Shift Dispatch Log to location management daily for review/ action
    • Email Daily On-time performance to the appropriate parties

    Requirements

    • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
    • A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or related field is required for this position
    • Must have experience with DOT compliance and driver routing

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    • The candidate must possess excellent written, verbal, organizational and leadership skills and possess strong customer service skills
    • Some computer skills are required and will train on the location's software
