Position Description

Under general direction, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.  Performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.  May create test data for applications.  Documents and works to resolve all complex problems.  Reports progress on problem resolution to management.  Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.  Resource will act as Subject Matter Expert in assigned areas with technical writers and other Quality Assurance Analysts.  Performs complex work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.  


  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, and technology
  • Three to Five (3-5) years experience in the quality assurance software testing field
  • Experience in quality assurance process and procedure, test plans and test scripts
  • Some development experience
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be a quick learner
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Knowledge of Quality Center, Functional Tester, Automation, Performance Test, Security Test.
  • Strong Project Management Skills


Lead teams on major projects

  • Implement improvements in process and procedures
  • Security testing
  • The QS IT Consultant will be responsible for Quality Services for all projects within one or more project vertical markets.  The QS IT Consultant will establish project priorities and manage the activities of the QS Specialist within the team, delivering each project within the established commitments, ensuring quality, performance and conformance with established specifications.
  • Development of project scope of work for Quality Services

  • Quality Services project plan and budget development

  • Managing the allocation of resources to ensure delivery of results

  • Prepares and gives presentations related to QS activities to business users and project team

  • Gathers project requirements and specifications from vendors, project managers and end-users

  • Oversees project test planning and execution

  • Coordinates all testing efforts including the setup and use of testing environment

  • Participates, as required, in a hands-on role, contributing with his/her technical/functional expertise

  • Ensures that projects adhere to established quality standards and measurements

  • Tracks projects status and ensures that projects adhere to proposed schedule

  • Tracks projects budget and ensures that projects adhere to proposed budget re-establishing milestones if necessary due to project scope changes

  • Communicates project status to all appropriate and interested parties

  • Anticipates and addresses project obstacles

  • Issue resolution/escalation

  • Ensures that appropriate documentation has been completed and distributed to operations, configuration management, and business users before deployment

  • Recognizes and communicates individual and team contributions

  • Attends project test phase metrics review and approves migration to production environment

  • Coordinates and participates in post-implementation reviews

  • Liaison with application or customer verticals, project management team’s on a regular basis to ensure that upcoming projects are planned

  • Plan, develop and execute test automation for majority of projects

  • Plan, develop and execute Performance test for majority of projects

  • Plan, develop and execute Security test for majority of projects
