Position Description

The Part-Time Logistics and Transportation Office Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the department. The person selected for this position will input information into Excel spreadsheets and other computer systems. The individual will also e-mail information to drivers/managers as needed. He/She will audit drivers' daily logs and other documentation. In addition, they will maintain the driver attendance log, and file documents for the previous day’s activities.

 

 

Normal work week is M-F 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

20 hours a week normal, not to exceed 30 hours in any given week.

 

Transportation/Logistics experience preferred

 

Dock Safety knowledge preferred

 

Must be able to work in a a high noise level environment

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Basic computer skills required such working with windows, using the task bar, minimize/maximize/close buttons, and highlight copy/paste
  • Basic MS Word skills such as centering text, changing font size and style, line spacing, page numbers, spell check, and margin set up
  • Basic MS Excel skills such as understanding rows and columns, inserting rows, deleting rows, selecting cells, inserting worksheets, saving, closing and the save as button

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills preferred

Responsibilities

The position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Organizing, filing, and general clerical work
  • Opening and distributing mail
  • Word processing and/or typing
  • Answering the telephone with professional courtesy
  • Other tasks as assigned
