Position Description

Primary point of contact on multiple projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams made up of professional staff from various departments and functions. Interfaces with the customer and Ryder's technical staff to ensure effective definition of and delivery of projects. Provides regular and proactive communications to customers and Ryder Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain/equivalent program or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years related experience in Project Management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, attainment is required within 12 months in the position
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required within 12 months
  • Proficiency in MS Office including MS Project
  • Rapidly learns and applies new information/concepts in Project Management
  • Knowledge of Transportation management functions - industry, operation and management
  • Proficiency in dedicated fleet function, operation and management
  • Proficiency in material flow functions - e.g. cross docking

Responsibilities

  • Supports business start-ups for medium to large sized programs
  • Manages assigned projects using program management methodologies and techniques in accordance with established standards
  • Interacts with customers and internal functional support teams to ensure results are achieved
  • Develops implementation strategy to meet customer expectations
  • Develop and manage plans to include scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, and risks
  • Coordinates the identification of certification to begin live operations criteria
  • Monitors post implementation customer expectations and standards
  • Interacts with multiple levels including Senior Management within Ryder and Client organizations
