Position Description

The Claims Assistant provides clerical support to the Workers' Compensation Department, including claims file management, bill payment processing, copying files, answering phones, scanning documents and any other administrative duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior clerical or administrative experience is preferred
  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills required

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Processing incoming mail, including scanning and attaching to file
  • Setting up new claims and creating claim folders
  • Copying files
  • Form completion and state filing
  • Entering and paying bills
  • Filing
  • Prepare UPS shipments
  • Shipping
  • EDI transmissions
  • Prepare and load bills for payment
  • Shredding documents
  • Attaching EOB's to checks and prepare for mailing
  • Answering phones
