Position Description

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the month end reporting and closing process including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations. They will primarily support the Financial Reporting Department. Support for Financial Reporting includes balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly accruals following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and producing and posting monthly reports. They will participate in special projects and work with their Supervisor to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. He/She will review and update Sarbanes Oxley Controls, and ensure adherence to the controls. They will also work with the internal and external auditing process as it relates to the department.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three (3) years or more experience in an Accounting related field
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude. Requires full use and application of relevant principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Functional/Technical skills
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment. Capable of multi-tasking, dealing with ambiguity, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • General knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Controls (intermediate level)
  • Thorough knowledge of tasks and responsibilities (advanced level)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel: Pivot tables, vlookup, formulas and links (advanced level)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Access and PowerPoint (intermediate level)


  • Engaged in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations and any related journal entries for the month-end close process
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations as assigned for Balance Sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances
  • Responsible for the monthly compilation and data input to generate monthly reports continuously interacting with various departments and department heads
  • Respond to requests for information made from Corporate, Internal Audit and other internal department management
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Lend support to peers and/or all levels of management as needed
