The Facility Planning Coordinator is tasked with resolving space planning issues to ensure that Headquarters is most efficiently utilizing its usable workspace. This includes providing options to improve existing space and if necessary, complete redesign of areas of the building to better accommodate all departments based on their individual needs. This is accomplished through planning meetings with clients to ensure projects are carried out with as little business disruption as possible. AutoCAD and various Adobe Design Suite programs are used to create accurate floor plans and clear graphics for organizational and presentational purpose.
Along with planning and drafting new areas, the Facility Planning Coordinator also plays a part in the construction of new areas as needed, ensuring installations are done accurately and according to plan. They are also responsible for ordering and managing all materials involved in projects including the offsite warehouse where materials are stored. Responsibility for the Headquarters facility planner position also extends remotely to other Ryder corporate offices to ensure building plans are accurate and assisting to produce new plans for future construction.
