Position Description

The Facility Planning Coordinator is tasked with resolving space planning issues to ensure that Headquarters is most efficiently utilizing its usable workspace. This includes providing options to improve existing space and if necessary, complete redesign of areas of the building to better accommodate all departments based on their individual needs. This is accomplished through planning meetings with clients to ensure projects are carried out with as little business disruption as possible. AutoCAD and various Adobe Design Suite programs are used to create accurate floor plans and clear graphics for organizational and presentational purpose.

Along with planning and drafting new areas, the Facility Planning Coordinator also plays a part in the construction of new areas as needed, ensuring installations are done accurately and according to plan. They are also responsible for ordering and managing all materials involved in projects including the offsite warehouse where materials are stored. Responsibility for the Headquarters facility planner position also extends remotely to other Ryder corporate offices to ensure building plans are accurate and assisting to produce new plans for future construction.


  • Associate's degree in Architecture or Building Construction
  • Two (2) years or more experience in floor plan interpretation and facility planning and support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work within tight time frames and meet strict deadlines
  • Project Design and Development (intermediate level)
  • AutoCAD Drafting (intermediate level)
  • Project Estimating (beginner level)
  • Floor Plan Interpretation (beginner level)
  • Project Management (beginner level) preferred
  • Graphic Design (beginner level) preferred


  • Administrate the Facility Department’s Work Order System
  • Assist the Facility Planning Manager to provide space planning, drawings, project proposals, presentation materials, phasing, and feasibility studies for all corporate office renovations and layouts
  • Responsible for assisting in all phases of assigned facility related projects including due diligence, schedule and budget development, programming, design management, construction, and move coordination
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate building plans according to any new construction or renovation for all Ryder corporate offices
  • Provide information, support and strategies to help high level management make facility related decisions
  • Oversee onsite construction projects to ensure correct installation, including oversight of outside contractors related to the maintenance of the facility
  • Remotely collaborate with other Ryder corporate facilities and assist with plan drawings for construction projects
  • Responsible for all PC hardware, IT equipment, voice and data relocations provided for employees who are moving to new workspaces
  • Organize and maintain network shared drive along with scanning important documents including but not limited to contracts, inspections etc
  • Manage Ryder’s assets in offsite warehouse
  • Supporting the document center as a backup to the document center supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
