The Logistics and Transportation Clerk is an essential member of the Operations department. As a Logistics and Transportation Clerk for Ryder System, Inc. your job duties include, but are not limited to the following: working directly with the in-plant Ryder resources and partner dedicated carriers through email, phone and Ryders proprietary software systems. Expectations are the ability to communicate verbally in a high volume environment, as well as completing detailed work that requires multitasking. Clerks must maintain a high level of customer service that includes written and verbal skills appropriate for a professional interaction with a corporate customer.
A Logistics Clerk must be able to identify critical problems and follow a specified chain of escalation. Prioritizing standard work and having flexibility to adjust tasks based on daily requirements is an essential skill. Candidates will be expected to have a basic familiarity with Windows based workstations and experience with Microsoft Office suite is a preference but not required. Work history dealing with the Transportation or Logistics field is a plus but will be part of introductory training.
