Position Description

Responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions for current and future operations. Provides coaching/mentorship to other engineers. Provides regular and proactive communications to customers and Ryder Management.

 

  • Effectively interacts with Customers, Operations and Sales to create value propositions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in: MS Office, SQL, VBA, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), AutoCAD, time studies/engineered labor standard development, MOST work measurement system, statistical analysis tools (Minitab,  Matlab), and simulation preferred
  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis maps and documents processes, independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement, applies company methodologies and tools to design distribution and/or transportation operations
  • Generate innovative continuous improvement initiatives to create savings and process efficiencies
  • Collaborates with the Engineering and Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions
  • Manages multiple projects of small and medium sizes; oversees end to end project lifecycle, leads, coaches, and mentors other Engineers and Peers.
  • Measure progress and impact of continuous improvement initiatives against targets
  • Establishes and implements KPI performance measures, conducts inventory and operational analyses and recommends alternative strategies
  • Develop reporting dashboards on Operational KPI metrics and performance against budget.
  • Actively supports the sales process and creates high quality solutions and designs

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required in Engineering/Business/Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of six years of related experience is required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBA and/or Industrial Engineering Masters Degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred, attainment is required within 12 months
  • American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in: MS Office MS Project and/or Transportation/Warehouse Management Systems (TMS and WMS) and Network analysis tools MS Visio Statistical and/or Transportation Analysis Tools (Minitab, SAS, Matlab, i2, Tmod, ILPS) Mapping analysis tools and/or Simulation, preferred
