Position Description

In this position you will lead the focused cross dock network strategy for a key client, managing all aspects of the outbound network execution and change process: network mapping, continuous improvement projects as well as bidding and negotiation as needed.  You will also lead the strategy for client focused network optimization. You will own a mix of core responsibilities which will optimize supply chain operational performance, drive cost savings and build the necessary tools and capabilities to support our continued growth.  These responsibilities would be, but are not limited to:

  • Lead strategy and execution of carrier and dedicated interface driving best practices and results from respective internal leaders.
  • Drive results from transportation managers on initiatives related to budget, negotiations and operational optimization.
  • Partnering with leadership on a daily basis
  • Strategic cross-functional projects with business partners in the corporate offices and across the DC network.
  • Manage all aspects of operational reporting and related communications

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation Management or related field is required
  • A minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management in a multi-plant manufacturing environment is required.
  • Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar
  • Prior experience making customer and senior level management presentations is also required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Areas of responsibility will be warehousing, distribution, dedicated contract carriage (DCC) and carrier management
  • This will involve an area of the business that will manage gross revenues of approximately $130 million and net revenues of approximately $24 million, overseeing several locations and employees
  • The incumbent will maintain a positive employee relation climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level
