Position Description

The Managed Maintenance Development Manager (MMDM) will call prospective customers via the phone utilizing several lead sources: Salesforce, vehicle registration lists, marketing lists and other potential lead sources. The MMDM will pursue new business opportunities in the Managed Maintenance Product line, selling Preventive, Comprehensive and potentially OnDemand service offerings. The MMDM will be responsible for cultivating leads from the various lead sources, completing needs assessments of prospects, presenting business proposals, securing new business following the Ryder sales process and preparing/processing contracts to complete the sale of the selected offering.




  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or other relevant field preferred
  • Five (5) years or more experience in successful sales
  • Five (5) years or more experience in successful inside sales preferred
  • Develops and delivers effective presentations. Demonstrated sales aptitudes
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism. Demonstrated assertiveness, persistence and self-motivation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to:
    • Analyze and solve problems
    • Listen, write, and speak effectively. Inform, explain, and give instructions
    • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
    • Work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Transportation and/or logistics industry knowledge (intermediate level) preferred
  • Knowledge of VP97, Radar, TCO (intermediate level) preferred
  • Financial knowledge (intermediate level)
  • Ryder specific policies and procedures knowledge (intermediate level) preferred
  • Internal computer programs and applications such as but not limited to RIDE,, etc. (intermediate level)


  • Implement sales strategies and call prioritization to achieve revenue goals
  • Document detailed notes in related to customer's needs, prepare/present proposals, prepare sales packages for processing
  • Establish ongoing rapport and build virtual relationships with target prospects within the assigned territory
  • Resolve customer issues by identifying problems and coordinating resources
  • Attain assigned new business sales quota, maintain a high call volume, achieve new account quota
  • Performs other duties as assigned
