Inside Sales Representative

Freight Brokerage

 

Ryder is looking for talented and motivated candidates for a role as an Inside Sales Representative.  This position is primarily responsible for building a portfolio of clients and acting as a liaison between the client and operations. A heavy volume of outbound sales calls and cold calls are expected and a comfortability with this job responsibility is vital for success. The individual in this role will negotiate freight brokerage rates with clients, occasionally managing the negotiation and movements of product and goods, and resolve any issues that may occur with the load and delivery process. This position is viewed as a stepping stone within the organization for future sales opportunities and will provide a strong and real opportunity for career advancement. Compensation for this role will include a base salary and a monthly commission structure based on production. Previous Freight Brokerage experience is highly desirable and strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, logistics or marketing or minimum of two (2) years of freight brokerage experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of freight brokerage experience, or Bachelors degree in business, logistics or marketing

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven, successful track record in Freight Brokerage and/or Transportation Sales Excellent written and oral communication skills such as presentation skills, strong customer development, sales and account management skills
  • Current active customer base with a business following of $10,000 gross profit per month, preferred
  • Previous experience with brokerage operating system preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Business Development -Developing and Managing a portfolio of business
  • Perform business evaluations to qualify leads
  • Preparation of pricing
  • Establish, manage and deliver upon account expectations and goals
  • Ensure margins and load volumes are maintained Account Management
  • Develop and manage customer relationships, providing excellent customer service
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations Problem Resolution
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to drive continuous improvement
  • Provide support for customer inquiries
  • Mentor new hires in training and on-going sales operational activities
  • Meet management Establish goals and metrics
